Chiropractic Care

for Kids

Why Children Need Specialised Chiropractic care?

Kids’ bodies are constantly growing, adapting and responding to the demands placed on them. Whether your child is playing weekend soccer, cricket or footy, shooting hoops after school, dancing for fun, or competing in swimming or gymnastics, every level of sport & activity places stress on their developing body. As their activity increases - especially during busy seasons or growth spurts - these demands can begin to affect how they move, feel and perform.

Ever noticed your child becoming more sore, tight or easily frustrated with their sport?

These subtle changes are often signs their body is under strain and not recovering as well as it could be.

At Intuitive Health & Wellness, we support young bodies in a way that’s gentle, specific and tailored to their stage of growth. Our care helps children to stay balanced, move more freely and recover with ease - so they can feel confident in their body and continue to enjoy the activities they love.

Concussion & Sports Injury Awareness

Early Recognition & Safe Recovery

When to Seek Medical Attention Immediately

If your child experiences any of the following after a head knock or injury, it is advisable to seek medical care straight away:

  • Loss of consciousness (even briefly).

  • Repeated vomiting.

  • Severe or worsening headache.

  • Confusion, disorientation, or unusual behaviour.

  • Difficulty waking or excessive drowsiness.

  • Seizures or convulsions.

  • Slurred speech or trouble speaking.

  • Weakness, numbness, or poor coordination.

When Serious Symptoms Have Been Ruled Out

The next step is understanding the more common signs to look for as your child recovers. Even minor impacts in sport can affect a child’s brain, muscles, or joints. So, recognising early signs of concussion or overuse injury is important for safe and steady recovery.

Common signs to look for may include:

  • Headaches or feeling of pressure in the head.

  • Dizziness, nausea, or balance issues.

  • Fatigue or unusual tiredness.

  • Difficulty concentrating or slowed thinking.

  • Sensitivity to light or noise.

  • Changes in mood, behaviour, or sleep patterns.

For physical injuries, signs may include ongoing soreness, reduced range of motion, or favouring one side of the body. Rest, gradual return to activity, and appropriate professional guidance are key to recovery.

Chiropractic care may be used alongside medical management to support movement, balance, and overall physical function during this time.
